The Albuquerque biopark.

If you’re looking for a didactic experience this week, the Albuquerque Bio Park is a great place to visit to learn more about the world’s most ambiguous and least explored destination of the world: The Ocean. For all attentive to some bio facts or just a unique marine experience, this aquatic center will leave you with a lasting impression, a look of amazement from your children and a unique illustration of wildlife behavior and habitat. Exhibits

Sharks-Super Predators

Catch a glimpse at some of the ocean’s most ferocious marauders with the shark exhibit. Every day at 11:30 and 2 p.m. you can see staff divers swim within the confines of the aquarium food feeding and scuba diving within the shark tank. There are plenty of amazing sea turtles to watch and the view is amazing. The glass stretches from floor to ceiling so that way nothing is concealed.

Ship’s Cove

This playful area will capture your imagination as scale models of historical sailing ships are presented and displayed within the area. For all of those who are interested in picking up a modeling hobby, you may purchase a kit at the gift shop to get you started.

Eel Cave

The Albuquerque Biopark has a large moray eel display that is quite inviting. These snake-like animals have a tendency to stay within the confines of holes of rocks and corals on the ocean floor but when they pop out it truly is a spectacle to behold. They have a tendency to be shy for the most part, but will attack if provoked.

 Jelly Life
Jellylife

These translucent invertebrate are the highlight of the aquarium. Lights are transmitted through the glass and there is an array or small and large jellyfish which light up the tank. A fully grown jellyfish, also known as a medusa preys on small plankton and fish using its tentacles; it has no brain, heart, or spine and yet the jellyfish has been around for over 650 million years.

Botanical Gardens

For those staying close by , the Botanical Gardens/Aquarium/Zoo combination is a perfect price for 12 dollars, but inclusive with your $7 surcharge for the aquarium is a tour of the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. The gardens are located directly adjacent to the aquarium.

This is a great place to take out your camera and get some pictures without worrying about a crowd. Butterflies gather throughout the gardens, and for those looking for some solitude, this is just the right spot. Enjoy the horticulture and be pensive for the moment, the view is amazing.
